I came across this and it is a terrific film about life on a Bomber Base with a lot more content and without all the flashy drama so many of those History Channel programs contain.

    Yes, we must remember them. I’m the only one left of our crew and I’m afraid we will soon all be gone. We have managed to build a Memorial for them but are still fighting for the Medal which was never issued. At war’s end there was such a furor about the Bombing of Germany, and specifically Dresden, that the “Powers That Be” shied away from any connection with the Bombing, and Sir Arthur Harris was retired in disgrace. The Medal, which had been minted in readiness, was issued as the War Medal, Harris’s Lion with its foot on the Dragon. So endith my epistle.
